Synopsis (short abstract)

The ESTRRA Semi-Annual Progress Report highlights key achievements recorded during the first six months of implementation of the Empowerment of Smallholders to Thrive and Build Climate Resilience through Regenerative Agriculture (ESTRRA) Project in Bauchi North Senatorial District. Funded by the HEINEKEN Africa Foundation and implemented by the Foundation for Sustainable Smallholder Solutions (FSSS), the project is strengthening livelihoods, expanding economic opportunities and building climate resilience among smallholder farming communities across seven Local Government Areas.

During the reporting period, the project reached 3,416 smallholder farmers, established and operationalised 11 Farmers’ Hubs, supported local agripreneurs with agro-processing equipment, and trained beneficiaries in enterprise development and income-generating activities. The report also highlights significant achievements in women and youth inclusion, improved access to agricultural services, increased agro-processing capacity, job creation, livelihood diversification, and the implementation of regenerative agriculture and landscape restoration initiatives. Together, these interventions are laying the foundation for stronger rural economies, improved household incomes, enhanced food systems and greater resilience to climate and economic shocks across Northern Bauchi.
