FSSS Announces Launch of Landmark Project for Smallholder Farmers in Bauchi State

The Foundation for Sustainable Smallholder Solutions (FSSS) is delighted to announce the official launch of its new three-year project titled “Empowerment of Smallholders to Thrive and Build Climate Resilience through Regenerative Agriculture.” This initiative, funded by the Heineken Africa Foundation, will empower 14,000 smallholder farmers across the Bauchi North Senatorial District.

The launch event will take place on:

Date: Thursday, 4 December 2025
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Venue: Yimir Hotels and Suites, Plot 47, Off Sunday Awoniyi Road, New GRA, Bauchi State

This project comes at a crucial time for farming communities in Northern Bauchi, where erratic rainfall, declining productivity, and persistent food insecurity continue to threaten livelihoods. Through regenerative agriculture, improved seeds, capacity building, and strengthened market systems, FSSS aims to equip farmers, especially women and young people, with the tools and knowledge they need to build resilience and sustainable prosperity.

What the Launch Event Will Feature

The ceremony will bring together government officials, traditional rulers, farmer representatives, development partners, academics, and private-sector organisations. Highlights of the programme include:

  • A technical session on the Farmers’ Hub Model, led by FSSS’s Technical Lead
  • A detailed presentation of the project’s objectives and expected outcomes
  • Testimonies from farmers previously supported by FSSS
  • The ceremonial unveiling of the project

Distinguished dignitaries and stakeholders will also share insights and goodwill messages.
