Emmanuel Orjichukwu is an agronomist and climate-smart agriculture specialist with extensive experience in empowering farmers to adopt regenerative practices. With academic qualifications from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, the University of Abuja, and Lagos Business School, Emmanuel brings both practical knowledge and research expertise to his work.
As the Lead Agronomist at Tourba, Emmanuel leads a team dedicated to pioneering carbon farming in Nigeria. He has worked closely with over 10,000 farmers to promote sustainable farming techniques, including no-till farming, intercropping, residue management, and crop rotation. These techniques not only enhance soil health but also help farmers adapt to climate change and benefit from carbon credit compensation.
Emmanuel’s research focuses on the effectiveness of regenerative agriculture practices in improving yields for crops like maize and soybean, while also increasing the potential for carbon sequestration in degraded farmlands.
